The Google favors sites with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
20-02-2017
In recent months, towards a more secure internet effort, Google announced that it will describe as "unsafe" all websites that are not using an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer or otherwise TLS) certificate. So, through Googles browser (Google Chrome), many sites that use simple HTTP connections, will be displayed with the corresponding red icon in the address bar that will characterize them as unsafe.
The reason is that the communication with these sites is not encrypted and that this creates more chances for someone to steal your personal information. Similarly, websites that have a license will appear as safe as you can see in the picture below:
In addition to safety, however, another reason to install an SSL certificate on your site, is the fact that Google will start to favor the specific site and their ranking in search results. Maybe a certificate may not be the most important factor in the ranking of your site but it certainly helps!
For this reason, we at Interactive Net Solutions offer to all our clients SSL certificates totally free for all our customers!
